• Upon receiving your request, we will send you an email that outlines the cost with a proforma and, if needed, a travel cost assessment based on your location. We will invite you to send any documents that you would like us to consider before our meeting such as site or floor plans or a building inspection report that provide information on the situation.
• If our meeting is outside the Mt Arrowsmith Biosphere Region and northwest of Comox/Courtenay (up-island), west of Port Alberni or southeast of Nanaimo (down-island) or off island, we calculate a travel rate. We do offer online meetings, depending on the situation.
• We request full payment to begin our service. We offer a refund less $25 until 9PM on the day before the scheduled meeting. Full details of the process and stages are outlined in the proforma document. By paying the deposit you agree to the terms.

We are open-hearted and open-minded. Our parameters are to simplify communication and our relationship. We believe that structure and guidelines are for better understanding and unity only.

DBR cost, Terms and conditions

This is a summary of the service. The full Terms and Conditions are provided in the sign-up package.

• Upon receiving your request, we will contact you by email or telephone according to your wishes.
• We request a deposit of C$250 to begin our service.
• Details of the process and stages are outlined in the proforma document. While our process requires a deposit, we also allow for cancellation at multiple stages so that even at the latest possible cancellation when we have commenced the research and report development, you will pay only half the agreed rate. In many cases all but a small portion of the initial deposit will be returned.
• The deliverables for the DBR are
1) An in-depth meeting that is not strictly time limited. We need to make sure that your needs and aspirations are fully captured.
2) The Dwelling Betterment Report in hard copy and as a PDF.
3) A follow-up meeting in person, online or by telephone depending on proximity and convenience.
• Full details of the process and stages are outlined in the proforma document. You may contact us to make limited changes based on the proforma. By paying the deposit you agree to the terms.

Donna Brink, a musician in Errington, faces tension with neighbors over noise from her practice. Limited practice space affects family activities, but they prefer not to rent. They own ample land and find travel disruptive. Unsure if their project warrants an architect, they consider utilizing their 3000 sf house.

ENVHA: Proposed reconfiguring rooms to create a dedicated practice space away from sensitive neighbors. This solution avoids costly renovations or building anew. The Dwelling Betterment Report offers a feasible resolution for Donna and her family.

• Upon receiving your request, we will contact you by email or telephone according to your wishes. Please be as specific as you can in your initial request on this form.
• The Visioning Package is designed to be based on a DBR. The Visioning Package can be developed without a prior DBR in many cases. We may combine elements of the DBR or create a process specific to your needs. • • The Visioning Package points to a specific direction that a project may be developed toward its fully planned stage for execution. It is a preliminary concept that may include specific organizational charts and diagrams, e.g. schematic floor plans, site plans, elevations of buildings, or operational flows. The Vision Package is preliminary design and documents to inform construction or other planning and permit process. The Visioning Package can be used to communicate with contractors and consultants, and arrange for design development and contract and construction documents.
• The cost is adjustable depending on the size and complexity of your needs and the site. if the Vision Package is based on the DBR, Full details of the process and stages will outlined in the proforma document, based on your input. You may contact us for changes based on the proforma, and if there is a need to discuss the project scope. By paying the deposit you agree to the terms.

Our service for the Dwelling Betterment Report usually requires that we meet. Travel costs are included in the mid–Vancouver Island region and negotiated toward the ends of Van Island, on the mainland, and beyond.
